Self-assessment

First of all, I'd like to say about what we need to do to be a good readers.
If we want to get some pleasure from reading they must have easy-to-use format of text. For example, I like to read either new  or old books but they must be in printed format. In the same time another people prefer to read from computer or electronic book. Then, after using the format,it may be useful to read some information about the author and the country where he live. It helps to understand some facts and behavior of the characters. But it will not be very good to read some review BEFORE reading the book, because it may put out from your own thoughts.
And only after that we could begin to read the book. We should read slowly, thinking over the events and  main ideas of book. Book must not be read for one night. And after that we must consult some literary critics and agree or disagree with them.
As for me, in this term I can get pleasure from slowly reading and it was really great especially after reading this book in  Russian for one night. I can compare my impressions from the first and the second reading. After the first one I feel the avalanche of emotions which were unforgivable. But many of details and subtleties slipped  away from me.But it was something like flash in my imagination. And when I took this book in English and became to read it gradually I began understand the actions of the characters better. Moreover, I extended my pleasure from reading the book I had more time to think over the main idea of the book.
And also, I began to feel that It became easier to write in English for me.

Tastes differ

I've read a review "The parade of the moral monsters". I'm sure that a man who wrote this review did not understand the main idea of this book. He did not understand why Heathcliff became so cruel and saw only negative features in his character.  And also he decided that all line of love was assumed. May it was so, but it just a literature hook and without it we would not see whole scene of  despair, hate, revenge. We would not see the real life without  its traditional " happy end". And, in the same time, this love was the last thing which could have our poor characters. And this love make them to be people , not moral monsters.

And there are two fragments from the " Wuthering Heights" by Peter Cosminski.
I like this Heathcliff, but his eyes must be devilishly black.

If I was a director....

When I read this book I could really see some scenes from it. The first and bright scene was when the narrator of the story saw the ghost of Cathy.
He slept in the room where Heathcliff and Cathy spent all their childhood together.  Accidentally the narrator found some old books under thick layer of dust. These books were covered with Cathy's writing. It was my first meeting with the main heroine. Imperceptibly I was lost in her thoughts...And only a fierce wind swung a fir branch....But suddenly somebody knocked at the window - it was the ghost of Cathy... Narrator was so afraid that cried out and awoke me from the Catherine's thoughts...
And also one more event left an imprint in my imagination. The moment of Cathy's death and her farewell with Heathcliff. I've seen Heathcliff's eyes were full of tears and grief...I've seen every change on his face...I've heard every sincere word flying down from his lips...  It was a moment of despair, a moment of baring of his thoughts...
And if could choose some actors of this film, first of all, I'd like to give the role of Cathy's husband to an actor who act Drago Malfoy in Harry Potter because of his appearance, abominable temper and manners. Then, after long searches, I'd like to see a man who can entirely reflect all essence of the main character... He must have a hot temper and all his emotions must reflect on his face. And one more obligatory nuance - he must have deep black devil's eyes....
Hello, my dear diary! Do you want to know a sequel of the book? It's so gloomy. When I read the second part of this book I was so anxious. I could not tear myself away from it. I think that the author had a gift of writing because I could let through myself all events.
So, when Heatcliff had come suddenly all members of the family were shocked. Cathy was so glad to see him again that he came to her house almost every day. But Heatcliff even did not think to conceal his intentions - he wanted to revenge, not to  Cathy, but to her husband and her brother. And the last one lost at cards Wuthering Heights and Heatcliff became a proprietor if this estate. Then he decided to get hold of another estate ( the property of Cathy's husband and his sister - Isabella). This dream could come true without any efforts - silly Isabella fell in love with Heatcliff  and he got married to her with a great pleasure. So, he achieved his goal. But because of this events Cathy became to go crazy. He was pregnant and in the night of her childbirth she died.Fortunately, Heatcliff  had time to say goodbye to her and it was their the most sincere conversation. Cathy  admitted that she still loving him more than herself... After these events Heatcliff did not want to live anymore... But he was strong and continued his revenge. He had his son (linton Heatcliff) from Isabella and he wanted that Linton and Cathy's daughter(Cathy too) get married . Then, in the end of this book unhappy Heatcliff  remained alone with Cathy(children of his love), Horton ( children of his brother) . After that, Heatcliff  went crazy and died.....

One big information gap in this book.

As I've already written, Cathy, Heatcliff's  love (love of whole his life), chose another man... But she did not tell it to him, Heatcliff  overheard her conversation with Nelly Din. Of course, it was a shock for him, because Cathy was sole darling and close  man in this odd house. So,  Heatcliff  disappeared. Nobody knew where but everybody understood why. He lived somewhere for 3 years.
And it was a big white spot in this book. The author did it purposely to give us food for our brains. We could only  know  that he became a very rich and influential man with excellent manners (which we couldn't observe before). His speech became intelligent, his appearance changed to the best side.
So, the main question  "Where did  Heatcliff live and what did he do? "
remain unanswered for us. In my opinion, the main character could be successful in military career because it was mentioned in the text that his muscles became more and more full-blown and his bearing became straight. And also he could study somewhere and associate with different intelligent people because his speech became richer. As for his wealth, he could acquired it with the help of his own business, for example he could sell slaves ( as we know such kind a man, he really could do it).
Another people in our group have also read this book and I hope they'll want to tell us their own estimates.
